The first annual Endeavor Awards Gala was presented by Angel Flight West at the Samuel Oschin Space Shuttle Endeavour Pavilion at the California Science Center, Sunday evening, May 4, 2014.
Space Shuttle Endeavour served a new mission in its home at the Samuel Oschin Pavilion at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. On Sunday evening, May 4, 2014, Endeavour cast a shining light on public benefit aviation at the inaugural Endeavor Awards Gala.
About 400 people, including several astronauts and other aviation celebrities, were seated underneath the recently retired Endeavor space shuttle at the California Science Center in Los Angeles for the inaugural Endeavor Awards honoring pilots volunteering their services for public benefit flights.
“Our inaugural Endeavor Awards event, created in a climate of ongoing and often unfair criticism of general aviation, now stands poised and ready to honor the true heroes of flying,” said Mark Wolper, President & Executive Producer of The Wolper Organization at Warner Bros. and Chair of the Endeavor Awards Host Committee.
“I don’t care who you are, when you watch and listen to Sean Tucker you get hooked on whatever he is doing. His passion and love for aviation affects everyone who sees him fly or hears him talk about flying. Among many pilots in the United States who were nominated by their colleagues and volunteer pilot organizations (VPOs), 12 Finalists have been selected for consideration by the Endeavor Awards Gala Host Committee to receive one of three Endeavor Awards for 2014, honoring and celebrating major contributions to Public Benefit Aviation.
Flying legend Clay Lacy – airline captain, military aviator, experimental test pilot, air race champion, world record-setter, aerial cinematographer and business aviation entrepreneur, has come aboard the Gala Host Committee of the Endeavor Awards celebrating Public Benefit Aviation.

The Endeavor Awards Gala Host Committee has invited famed Astronauts Scott Parazynski, Kent Rominger and Charlie Precourt to join in staging their inaugural event celebrating Public Benefit Aviation at the Samuel Oschin Space Shuttle Endeavour Pavilion in the California Science Center.
